Common Complaints and Reliability

• 1. Airbag non-deployment:

  • the consumer was involved in a head on collision and the driver side air bag did not deploy.
    
  • blazer in front had stopped; sun obstructed driver's view (Toyota) & rearended the blazer; the driver's side air bag did not deploy.
    
  • consumer states that the vehicle was in a head on accident. Consumer states that the drivers side airbag did not deploy.
    
  • driving vehicle at speed of 45 mph hitting an animal on hwy causing a frontal impact 12-00, the air bag did not deploy.
    
  • frontal collision impact 12-00 position speed 25 mph, air bag partially deployed, causing injuries.
    
  • in a head on collision the air bag did not deploy.
    
  • lost control of vehicle, hit wooden fence, proceeded to hit concrete wall; airbag did not deploy.
    
  • when the consumer pressed the brake pedal with force the frontal air bag deployed.
    
  • while driving vehicle was invovled in a head on collision and airbags did not deploy.
    
  • while sitting at a stop light, another vehicle rear end the consumer vehicle. Upon impact, driver's side air bag didn't deploy.
    

• 2. Electrical issues:

  • vehicle caught fire on the passenger side in the engine compartment.
    
  • while driving, car started filling up with smoke due to amp short circuiting.
    

• 3. Other:

  • front tire blow out leading to accident
    
  • lifted trunk hinge snapped off
    
  • rear windshield oxidized, no vision
    
  • driver and passenger seat belt retractor inoperative
    
  • vehicle accelerated out of control resulting in accident
    
  • vehicle increased acceleration unexpectedly
    
  • Toyota special service campaign for head gasket not honored.
