  • 1. Unintended acceleration:

    • when backing out of the driveway the car suddenly accelerated and at a high rate of speed shot across the street
    • in July of 2007 or 2008 while attempting to park my 2003 Toyota Solara in a parking lot, the car suddenly accelerated while foot was on the brake
    • on June 21, 2007, the vehicle surged while pulling into a parking space at 5 mph.

  • 2. Airbag failure:

    • airbags failed to deploy in a crash
    • driver airbag failed to deploy in a frontal passenger side crash
    • 2003 Toyota Camry Solara convertible crashed into a stationary pole and airbags did not deploy

  • 3. Seatbelt malfunction:

    • seat belt would lock up on the driver, requiring replacement

  • 4. Electrical issues:

    • extreme sulphur smell inside cabin due to ecu and catalytic converter issues
    • check engine warning light illuminated due to oxygen sensor replacement
    • accelerated while in neutral and parking brake on, regular brakes failed along with airbags

  • 5. Other unspecified issues:

    • design flaw in Toyota Solara models 1999-2003, causing convertible top to snag and glass window to shatter
    • driver side door does not close properly
    • vehicle vibrates and pulls to the left while driving, dealer unable to fix
